Job Description:
The Boiler Maintenance Engineer in Calgary is responsible for the upkeep, inspection, and repair of industrial boiler systems essential for supporting manufacturing and production operations. This role plays a vital part in ensuring steam generation equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
Core responsibilities include conducting regular inspections, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, identifying system inefficiencies, and repairing boiler components such as burners, valves, safety devices, pumps, and pressure vessels. The engineer is also expected to monitor fuel consumption, maintain logs of maintenance activities, and coordinate shutdowns for major overhauls. Collaboration with plant supervisors and utility engineers is key to ensuring uninterrupted production workflows.
This role is especially critical in Calgary’s industrial manufacturing, chemical processing, and food production sectors, where high-pressure steam systems are essential to operations.
Job Requirement:
Education: Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering, power engineering, or industrial maintenance. A valid provincial boiler engineer license is required.
Experience: 3–5 years in industrial boiler operation and maintenance.
Skills:
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing high- and low-pressure steam systems.
Knowledge of thermal efficiency, combustion analysis, and fuel systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Skilled in using diagnostic tools and control instrumentation.
Strong understanding of Alberta’s safety codes and maintenance protocols.
Language: English fluency required.
