Job Description:
The CNC Turning Operator in Quebec City is responsible for setting up and operating CNC turning machines to manufacture precision components according to detailed engineering specifications. These parts are essential to industries such as aerospace, medical, automotive, and industrial equipment manufacturing. The operator plays a key role in ensuring product accuracy, surface finish, and dimensional tolerances.
Primary duties include reading technical drawings, setting up tools and materials, inputting programs into CNC lathes, and running production cycles while monitoring performance. The operator also inspects finished parts using precision measuring instruments, makes offset adjustments as needed, and ensures continuous machine operation to meet productivity and quality standards.
This role demands adherence to safety protocols, machine maintenance, documentation of production logs, and collaboration with engineers and quality assurance personnel to optimize machining efficiency and reduce scrap.
Job Requirement:
Education: High school diploma required; CNC machining certification or vocational training preferred.
Experience: 1–3 years operating CNC turning centers or lathes in a production environment.
Skills:
Proficiency in CNC lathe setup, programming input, and operation.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Skilled in using micrometers, calipers, and other measurement tools.
Understanding of tool wear, machine offsets, and cycle time optimization.
Familiarity with ISO quality and safety standards.
Language: Basic to intermediate French or English communication skills required.
