Job Description:
The Coating Line Technician in Montreal is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining coating line equipment to apply protective or decorative finishes to various products. This role ensures consistent coating quality, adherence to production specifications, and compliance with safety regulations.
Key duties include setting up machines, adjusting coating thickness, speed, and temperature settings, and ensuring raw materials (paints, powders, films, or chemicals) are prepared according to the required formula. The technician inspects incoming parts for cleanliness, ensures proper surface preparation, and monitors the coating process for uniform application.
Routine responsibilities involve conducting quality checks for thickness, adhesion, and appearance, documenting production data, and making adjustments to maintain optimal output. The technician also performs preventative maintenance on equipment, troubleshoots operational issues, and coordinates with maintenance teams for repairs.
Job Requirement:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in coatings or manufacturing processes preferred.
Experience: 1–3 years in coating operations, industrial painting, or production line work is an asset.
Skills:
Knowledge of coating processes (powder, spray, dip, or roll coating)
Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical specifications
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Understanding of quality inspection methods and measurement tools
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long shifts and lift up to 25 kg
Good manual dexterity and coordination
