Job Description:
A Bus Driver in the hospitality and tourism sector in Al Ahmadi plays a key role in transporting guests, employees, and tour groups safely and comfortably between destinations. Employed by hotels, resorts, tour operators, or conference centers, the Bus Driver is responsible for delivering punctual and courteous transportation services that enhance the guest experience and support the operational efficiency of the establishment.
Duties include driving scheduled routes between hotels, airports, event venues, tourist attractions, or staff accommodations. The driver must ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers, adhere to traffic laws and transport regulations, and maintain a courteous and professional demeanor at all times. This includes helping passengers with luggage, providing local information, assisting guests with mobility needs, and ensuring the vehicle remains clean and presentable.
Pre- and post-trip inspections are essential to the role, involving checking oil levels, tire pressure, brake functionality, and the cleanliness of the bus. In the case of breakdowns or emergencies, the Bus Driver must act quickly and calmly, reporting issues to maintenance or management while ensuring guest safety.
The role may also involve coordination with front desk or concierge staff to arrange shuttle timings, communicate delays, or adjust routes for private group bookings. Flexibility and punctuality are critical, especially during peak hours, late-night airport runs, or special events.
Bus Drivers must keep logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and service needs. Strong interpersonal skills, local route knowledge, and a commitment to hospitality service are essential traits. Job Requirement:
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) appropriate for passenger transport.
Clean driving record with no recent traffic violations.
Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in bus or shuttle driving, preferably in hospitality or tourism.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of local roads, traffic laws, and route optimization.
Good communication skills and a courteous, guest-friendly attitude.
Physical ability to assist with luggage and help passengers board/disembark.
Proficiency in conducting routine vehicle inspections and identifying maintenance issues.
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in high-pressure or emergency situations.
Professional appearance and adherence to uniform standards.
Familiarity with basic vehicle troubleshooting is a plus.
Capability to use GPS systems or routing apps for efficient travel planning.
Ability to keep accurate records related to mileage, fuel, and passenger logs.
