Job Description: The Air Conditioning & Freezing Technician plays a crucial role in the construction and building industry, specializing in the installation, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning and freezing systems. They ensure optimal functioning and performance of these systems to provide comfortable indoor environments and preserve perishable goods. Key Responsibilities: HVAC System Installation: Install air conditioning and freezing systems, including HVAC units, ductwork, refrigerant lines, and control panels. Ensure proper positioning, alignment, and connection of system components. System Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning filters, inspecting components, and lubricating moving parts, to ensure the efficient operation of HVAC systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and perform necessary repairs. Refrigerant Handling: Handle refrigerants safely and in compliance with environmental regulations. Charge and recover refrigerants as required and conduct leak testing to ensure system integrity. Temperature Control: Set and adjust temperature controls, thermostats, and humidity levels to maintain desired environmental conditions. Calibrate and test system controls to ensure accuracy and proper functionality. Ductwork Installation and Repair: Install, repair, and maintain ductwork systems for air distribution. Ensure proper insulation, sealing, and airflow to optimize system performance. Electrical Component Wiring: Wire electrical components, such as motors, compressors, and control panels, following electrical codes and safety standards. Test electrical connections and troubleshoot electrical issues. Energy Efficiency Optimization: Evaluate and recommend energy-saving measures to improve the efficiency of HVAC systems. Install and program energy management systems and advise on proper system usage. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety guidelines in all HVAC-related work. Follow proper safety procedures and use personal protective equipment to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of HVAC system installations, repairs, and maintenance activities. Prepare service reports, work orders, and invoices as necessary. Job Requirement: Qualifications and Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Relevant vocational or technical training in air conditioning and refrigeration.
