Job Description:

The Marketplace Manager Executive in Sydney plays a strategic and operational leadership role in managing the company’s presence on third-party marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Catch, Kogan, and others. This position is tasked with optimising marketplace performance through effective product listings, competitive pricing, inventory management, advertising, and customer experience initiatives. The executive works closely with sales, marketing, operations, and supply chain teams to drive sustainable growth and profitability from marketplace channels.

Core responsibilities include overseeing marketplace product portfolios, ensuring content accuracy, SEO-friendly listings, and alignment with promotional calendars. The executive monitors pricing strategies, ensuring competitiveness while maintaining target margins. They analyse performance data including sales velocity, customer reviews, conversion rates, and advertising ROI to inform decisions and refine tactics.

The role also includes managing relationships with marketplace account managers, ensuring compliance with platform policies, and resolving any operational issues that affect product visibility or account standing. The executive plans and coordinates promotional events such as flash sales, sponsored product campaigns, and seasonal listings optimisation in collaboration with internal marketing teams.

Additionally, the Marketplace Manager Executive implements strategies for expanding marketplace presence, launching new SKUs, testing product bundles, and identifying emerging channels for potential partnerships. This position contributes to forecasting and inventory planning, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet demand across platforms.

In Sydney’s highly competitive e-commerce landscape, the Marketplace Manager Executive is critical to achieving growth across external sales channels, maintaining brand consistency, and strengthening the business’s presence in Australia’s most active online marketplaces.

Job Requirement:

This role demands expertise in managing third-party e-commerce platforms, including backend portal navigation, listing optimisation, and marketplace algorithm knowledge. Proficiency in Amazon Seller Central, eBay Seller Hub, and tools like ChannelAdvisor or Linnworks is essential. The candidate should be comfortable managing catalogue data, pricing rules, and real-time performance dashboards.

Analytical skills are central to success. The executive must regularly review performance reports, including impressions, click-through rates, sell-through rates, customer satisfaction metrics, and ACoS (advertising cost of sale). The ability to make data-driven decisions regarding product promotions, keyword strategies, and inventory allocation directly impacts profitability.

Project management capabilities are also important, especially when coordinating campaigns across multiple platforms with tight deadlines. The candidate should be able to juggle ongoing listing updates, price testing, new product rollouts, and marketing campaigns simultaneously while maintaining platform compliance.

Strong communication skills are essential when liaising with account managers from Amazon, eBay, or other marketplace partners. The executive must also collaborate effectively with internal teams in marketing, logistics, customer service, and merchandising to ensure that marketplace activity is integrated into broader business operations.

The ideal candidate is highly commercial, performance-focused, and adaptable to changing marketplace conditions. In Sydney’s fast-evolving online retail scene, the Marketplace Manager Executive is instrumental in ensuring that the brand remains competitive, compliant, and profitable across multiple marketplace environments.
