Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated General Livestock Farmer to join our agricultural operation located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As a General Livestock Farmer, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of livestock farming, with a focus on raising and breeding various types of animals. Responsibilities: Animal Care: Provide daily care and maintenance for livestock, including feeding, watering, and ensuring overall animal health and welfare. Breeding and Reproduction: Implement breeding programs, monitor reproductive cycles, and facilitate successful mating and pregnancy in livestock. Herd Management: Oversee the herd size and composition, ensuring optimal productivity and growth rates. Feed and Nutrition: Develop and implement feeding programs to meet the specific dietary needs of different livestock species. Facilities and Infrastructure: Maintain and repair livestock housing, fences, and other infrastructure to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for the animals. Health and Disease Management: Monitor for signs of illness, administer vaccinations, and implement disease prevention measures to maintain herd health. Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of animal births, deaths, vaccinations, and other important data. Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and demand for livestock products, and make informed decisions regarding breeding, sales, and marketing strategies. Equipment and Machinery: Operate and maintain various farm equipment and machinery used in livestock farming.
Job Requirement: Requirements: Education and Experience: A degree or diploma in agriculture, animal science, or a related field is preferred. Prior experience in livestock farming or a similar role is highly desirable. Knowledge of Livestock: In-depth understanding of animal behavior, breeding techniques, nutrition, and health management. Physical Stamina: The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks related to livestock farming. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to identify and address issues related to animal health, infrastructure, and operational efficiency. Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members, suppliers, and customers.
