Job Description:
The Front-End Loader Operator in Edmonton is responsible for operating heavy-duty front-end loaders used in construction, mining, aggregate, and industrial material handling operations. This role involves loading and transporting materials such as gravel, soil, sand, asphalt, and debris across job sites or to transport vehicles, ensuring safe and efficient material movement.
Primary responsibilities include operating the loader to lift and load bulk materials, inspecting equipment before and after use, maintaining safe operating conditions, and assisting in general site clean-up and organization. Operators are expected to work collaboratively with truck drivers, site supervisors, and ground crews to maintain steady workflow and meet project deadlines.
Work environments may include road construction, excavation projects, or industrial yards, often under varying weather conditions. Adherence to safety protocols and attention to machine handling are critical to prevent site hazards and equipment damage.
Job Requirement:
Education: High school diploma or GED required; certification in heavy equipment operation preferred.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience operating front-end loaders or similar heavy machinery.
Skills:
Proficient in operating large front-end loaders in various terrains.
Knowledge of machine safety checks and basic mechanical maintenance.
