Job Description:

The Bulk Material Transport Technician in Toulouse is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of raw and processed materials throughout the mining site. This role involves overseeing the operation of equipment designed for bulk transport, including conveyors, hoppers, chutes, and mobile loading systems. The technician plays a vital role in sustaining production workflows by minimizing material handling delays and reducing spillage, contamination, or system blockages.

Key responsibilities include monitoring the condition and performance of transport systems, identifying obstructions or uneven flow patterns, and making necessary adjustments to optimize throughput. The technician often inspects conveyor belts, tracks hopper levels, aligns feed chutes, and ensures that loaders and dumpers operate in sync with demand across ore processing and storage facilities.

In addition to monitoring equipment, the technician is involved in cleaning and maintaining transfer points, applying lubrication where needed, tightening bolts or joints, and replacing worn components such as belt scrapers or roller bearings. Dust suppression and material containment are also part of the job to maintain visibility and safety on-site. Coordination with operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams is essential to manage material load volumes and to schedule service breaks or equipment swaps without disrupting the overall production flow.

Daily tasks also involve safety inspections, including checking guardrails, emergency stop mechanisms, and fire safety elements around transport zones. The technician may also support loading operations, verify transport logs, and assist in rerouting material when equipment is offline.

Working in Toulouse’s mining industry, the Bulk Material Transport Technician ensures that the movement of crushed rock, ore, and other materials is continuous, reliable, and environmentally controlled. This position contributes directly to site efficiency, throughput stability, and the timely delivery of materials to processing and shipping areas.

Job Requirement:

The Bulk Material Transport Technician in Toulouse must have a solid understanding of bulk handling systems and the ability to maintain and monitor high-capacity transport equipment across a dynamic mining site. This includes knowledge of conveyor mechanics, material discharge processes, chute design, and flow control practices used to transport raw or processed minerals.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot transport systems quickly. Technicians must be comfortable working around moving machinery and should be able to detect early signs of wear, misalignment, or system blockage. The technician is expected to make real-time adjustments or minor repairs, such as clearing jams, adjusting belt tension, or repairing guides and diverters, to prevent costly downtime.

A keen awareness of safety procedures is essential. The technician must work safely in areas where noise, vibration, dust, and heavy vehicle traffic are constant. Understanding lockout/tagout procedures, emergency shutdown systems, and safe lifting practices is necessary when performing repairs or inspections on or near operating transport equipment.

The ability to collaborate across departments is crucial. The technician regularly communicates with plant operators, dispatch coordinators, maintenance mechanics, and supervisors to stay aligned with production schedules and adjust transport routes as needed. Recording system performance data, reporting abnormal loads, and ensuring accurate documentation of maintenance activities are all part of daily expectations.

In Toulouse’s mining operations, the Bulk Material Transport Technician serves as a key player in minimizing bottlenecks, optimizing system throughput, and preserving equipment life. Their proactive monitoring and hands-on maintenance ensure that materials move from extraction points to processing facilities safely and efficiently, maintaining continuity in the mine’s production chain.
