The Geological Logging Technician is responsible for collecting and analyzing geological and petrophysical data from drilling operations to support exploration and production activities in the oil and gas industry around Florence. This role involves recording detailed well log data, including lithology, formation characteristics, and core samples, to assist geologists and engineers in evaluating reservoir properties and guiding drilling decisions.
Key duties include preparing and calibrating logging equipment, performing real-time data acquisition during drilling, and conducting on-site sample analysis. The technician ensures the accuracy and quality of geological data by closely monitoring drilling parameters and coordinating with drilling crews and geoscience teams.
Compliance with Italian and EU health, safety, and environmental regulations is mandatory. The Geological Logging Technician maintains detailed records, prepares technical reports, and contributes to the interpretation of geological data for reservoir modeling.
Candidates should have a background in geology, earth sciences, or petroleum engineering, with hands-on experience in well logging and geological data collection. Strong observational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under challenging field conditions are essential. Proficiency in Italian and working knowledge of English are required to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Degree or diploma in Geology, Earth Sciences, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
Prior experience (at least 2 years) in geological logging, well site data acquisition, or related roles within the oil and gas sector.
Proficiency in operating and calibrating geological and petrophysical logging tools and equipment, including gamma-ray tools, resistivity logs, and core sampling devices.
Strong knowledge of lithology, formation evaluation, and subsurface geology to accurately record and interpret geological data.
Ability to collect, document, and analyze geological samples and well log data, ensuring accuracy and quality for reservoir evaluation.
Familiarity with software used for logging data management and interpretation (e.g., WellCAD, GeoGraphix, or similar).
Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in Italy and the EU, with strict adherence to operational safety protocols on-site.
Excellent attention to detail, strong observational skills, and ability to work effectively in physically demanding, outdoor, or offshore environments.
Good communication skills in Italian and working knowledge of English for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and reporting.
Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and adapt to rotating shifts or remote site conditions.
