Job Description: An Education Counselor plays a vital role in providing guidance and support to students and parents regarding educational opportunities and career paths. Assess students' aptitudes, strengths, and weaknesses to provide personalized recommendations for suitable educational options. Advise students on admission requirements, deadlines, and procedures for various educational institutions. Review and edit personal statements, essays, and recommendation letters to enhance students' chances of acceptance. Scholarship and Financial Aid Guidance: Identify and inform students about available scholarships, grants, and financial aid opportunities. Guide students through the application process for scholarships, including assisting with essay writing and documentation. Provide advice on budgeting and financial planning for educational expenses. Career Counseling: Help students explore career options based on their interests, skills, and academic background. Conduct career assessments and provide information on job prospects and market trends. Advise students on selecting courses and programs that align with their career goals. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with educational institutions, universities, colleges, and scholarship providers. Attend education fairs, seminars, and conferences to stay updated on educational trends and opportunities. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance counseling resources and materials.
Job Requirement: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Counseling, Psychology). Previous experience in education counseling, admissions, or related fields is preferred. Knowledge of the Japanese education system, including universities, colleges, and vocational programs. Familiarity with international education systems and study abroad opportunities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and educational institutions. Strong counseling and advising skills, with the ability to understand and address individual needs and concerns. Attention to detail and organizational skills for managing applications, documentation, and deadlines. Fluency in Japanese and English (both spoken and written). Proficiency in using computer applications and software for research, documentation, and communication.
