Job Description: We are looking for skilled and experienced Welders and Solderers to join our Shipbuilding & Ship Machinery team in Lisbon, Portugal. As a Welder and Solderer, you will play a critical role in the construction, repair, and maintenance of ships and ship machinery. Your expertise in welding and soldering techniques, as well as your commitment to quality workmanship, will contribute to the successful completion of shipbuilding projects. Key Responsibilities: Welding and Soldering: Perform welding and soldering tasks on various ship components and machinery, ensuring strong and secure joints. Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical blueprints and engineering drawings to determine welding and soldering requirements. Material Preparation: Prepare materials for welding and soldering, including cutting, shaping, and cleaning metal surfaces. Welding Equipment: Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring safety and efficiency in the welding process. Quality Control: Inspect completed welds and solder joints for quality and accuracy, making necessary adjustments as needed. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures while performing welding and soldering tasks. Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the shipbuilding team, including engineers, fabricators, and supervisors, to ensure smooth project execution. Repair and Maintenance: Conduct welding and soldering repairs on existing ships and machinery to restore functionality and structural integrity. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of welding and soldering activities, including materials used and work performed.
Job Requirement: Qualifications and Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training or certification in welding and soldering is preferred. Proven experience as a Welder and Solderer in the Shipbuilding & Ship Machinery industry. Proficiency in various welding techniques, such as arc welding, MIG welding, and TIG welding. Familiarity with soldering processes and procedures. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints related to shipbuilding. Strong attention to detail and precision in welding and soldering tasks. Physical stamina and the ability to work in confined spaces and challenging environments. Safety-conscious and compliant with all safety guidelines. Fluency in Portuguese is required, and basic English language skills are advantageous.
