Job Description:
As an Automotive Diagnostics Technician in Bern, your primary responsibility is to identify and resolve complex technical issues in modern vehicles using advanced diagnostic tools and software. You will interpret fault codes, evaluate sensor data, and perform system checks on engines, transmissions, emissions, fuel systems, and electronic control units (ECUs). The role requires a high level of precision and analytical thinking to determine the root cause of performance issues or malfunctions. In addition to troubleshooting, you will also recommend and implement repairs, calibrate sensors, reset systems, and update onboard software where necessary. Working in close coordination with service advisors and mechanics, you will provide diagnostic reports, explain issues clearly, and ensure repairs meet manufacturer and legal standards. This role is critical in supporting the broader service team and in improving first-time fix rates. Your work helps ensure customer satisfaction by reducing vehicle downtime and enhancing reliability.
