A Flat Knitting Machine Operator in Bern is responsible for operating and maintaining flatbed knitting machines used to produce knitted panels for garments or textiles. The operator sets up machines with specified yarns, adjusts tension and stitch settings, and monitors the knitting process to ensure consistent product quality. Duties also include detecting and correcting knitting faults, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring production goals are met. Job Requirement:
Experience in operating flat knitting machines (e.g., Stoll, Shima Seiki)
Understanding of knit structures and fabric properties
Ability to adjust machine settings and troubleshoot issues
Basic maintenance skills and mechanical aptitude
Attention to detail to detect and fix faults in production
Familiarity with knitting patterns and technical specifications
Ability to follow production schedules and maintain records
Teamwork and communication skills
Physical stamina to operate machines over long shifts
