They utilize navigational instruments, charts, and electronic systems to ensure safe and efficient passage. They calculate fuel consumption and optimize voyage duration. Safety and Emergency Preparedness: Merchant Navy Officers enforce strict safety procedures and protocols to protect crew members, passengers, and the vessel. They conduct safety drills, maintain safety equipment, and ensure compliance with international maritime safety standards. They are prepared to respond to emergencies effectively. Crew Management: Officers supervise and lead the crew members on board. They assign duties, provide training, and maintain discipline and morale.
