Job Description:
We are looking for a qualified and proactive Aviation Safety Advisor to join our airport operations team in Florence. This role is responsible for promoting and maintaining the highest safety standards across all airside and landside operations, in line with national and international aviation safety regulations.
The Aviation Safety Advisor will conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, and will provide expert recommendations to reduce hazards and improve operational procedures. The role includes the development and implementation of Safety Management Systems (SMS), as well as monitoring compliance with ICAO, EASA, and ENAC requirements. The advisor will also organize safety training programs and support the development of safety culture throughout the airport environment.
The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of airport and airline operations, a deep understanding of aviation safety frameworks, and hands-on experience managing safety issues within a regulated environment. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external agencies.
This is a key position that contributes directly to the safe and efficient functioning of Florence’s aviation infrastructure, helping to ensure the wellbeing of passengers, personnel, and assets.

Candidates for the Aviation Safety Advisor position must possess a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Safety, Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related field. A master’s degree or recognized safety certification (e.g., ICAO Safety Management Systems, IOSA, or EASA Part-OR) is strongly preferred.
A minimum of 4–6 years of experience in aviation safety or operational oversight within an airport, airline, or aviation authority is required. Applicants must have in-depth knowledge of international and national aviation safety regulations, including ICAO Annex 19, EASA Basic Regulation, and ENAC standards. Familiarity with safety auditing techniques, incident investigation procedures, and risk assessment methodologies is essential.
Proficiency in safety reporting systems, data analysis tools, and documentation platforms is expected. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret safety data and trends are key to this role. Fluency in both Italian and English is mandatory to effectively coordinate with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
