Job Description:
The Offshore Scaffold Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient assembly, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding structures used on oil platforms and other offshore installations. Working in Qurain, where extensive offshore activity requires constant maintenance and construction, the technician ensures that temporary work platforms meet stringent safety and load-bearing requirements.
Technicians interpret scaffolding blueprints and work closely with site engineers and supervisors to build platforms that allow safe access to difficult-to-reach areas. Duties include conducting site assessments, preparing scaffolding materials, securing base plates, erecting vertical and horizontal support structures, and bracing scaffold towers. Offshore Scaffold Technicians also install edge protection, toe boards, safety netting, and access ladders as needed.
Given the dynamic and hazardous offshore environment, the technician performs regular inspections of scaffold stability and integrity, reporting any deficiencies and making necessary adjustments. This role requires strict adherence to HSE standards and may involve emergency repair work during harsh weather or operational shutdowns.
Job Requirement:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid scaffolding certifications (CITB, CISRS, or equivalent)
Offshore survival training (BOSIET, HUET)
Minimum 3 years of offshore scaffolding experience
Physically fit, comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
Knowledge of international scaffolding safety regulations
Ability to interpret technical drawings and lift plans
Teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
