As a Phlebotomy Technician, your primary responsibility will be to collect blood samples from patients for diagnostic testing, blood donations, and other medical purposes. You will work closely with nurses, doctors, and laboratory staff to ensure safe and accurate blood collection procedures.
Key responsibilities include preparing patients for blood collection, ensuring the proper use of equipment such as needles, tubes, and vacutainers, and labeling and transporting specimens to the laboratory. You will also be responsible for maintaining patient comfort during procedures, following infection control guidelines, and documenting all procedures accurately.
This role is essential to the healthcare team, as accurate blood collection is critical for diagnosing and monitoring various medical conditions.
