Job Description: Responsibilities: Welding and Soldering: Perform welding and soldering operations to join metal parts and components, following established procedures and safety guidelines. Reading Blueprints: Interpret and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and welding/soldering specifications to ensure accurate and precise work. Metal Preparation: Prepare metal surfaces for welding or soldering by cleaning, grinding, or shaping as necessary. Equipment Set-up: Set up and operate welding and soldering equipment, including welding machines, torches, and associated tools. Material Selection: Select the appropriate welding or soldering materials, such as electrodes, filler metals, or flux, based on the project requirements and metal types. Quality Control: Ensure the quality and integrity of welds and soldered joints by conducting visual inspections and performing necessary tests. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the maintenance of a safe working environment. Welding Techniques: Utilize various welding techniques, such as arc welding, MIG welding, TIG welding, or spot welding, depending on the project specifications. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members, including engineers, supervisors, and fabricators, to complete projects on time and according to specifications. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including welding logs, quality control reports, and material usage records.

Job Requirement: Requirements: Education and Certification: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in welding or soldering techniques is preferred. Welding and Soldering Experience: Proven experience as a welder and solderer, preferably in the shipbuilding or heavy equipment industry. Technical Skills: Proficiency in welding and soldering techniques, including experience with various welding processes and equipment. Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding/soldering specifications. Metalworking Knowledge: Understanding of different types of metals, their properties, and appropriate welding/soldering techniques for each metal. Safety Awareness: Strong knowledge of safety procedures and practices in welding and soldering operations. Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate and precise welds and soldered joints. Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various positions and environments. Problem-Solving Skills: Effective problem-solving abilities to address any welding or soldering challenges that may arise during projects. Teamwork: Willingness to work as part of a team and collaborate with other professionals to achieve project goals.
