We are seeking a reliable and skilled Asphalt Road Paving Technician to join our construction team in Bern, contributing to the development and maintenance of roads, highways, and infrastructure within the Construction & Building Industry. This role focuses on the preparation, application, and finishing of asphalt surfaces to ensure smooth, durable, and safe roads.
Key responsibilities include assisting in site preparation, operating paving tools and machinery, and laying asphalt in accordance with technical specifications. You will work closely with machine operators, surveyors, and site supervisors to ensure even distribution, proper compaction, and adherence to slope and grade requirements. Tasks also include raking, shoveling, and smoothing asphalt by hand where precision is required.
Daily duties involve monitoring asphalt temperature, ensuring material consistency, and applying surface treatments to achieve the desired finish. You'll also be responsible for basic equipment care, site cleanup, and safety compliance throughout all phases of paving work.
This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work in varying weather and traffic conditions. As an Asphalt Road Paving Technician, your work will play a key role in improving and maintaining Bern’s transportation infrastructure and public safety through high-quality surface construction.
