Job Description: The General Counsel holds a senior leadership position within the legal and compliance industry in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This role involves providing expert legal advice and guidance to the organization, managing legal risks, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Key responsibilities include: Legal Strategy: Develop and implement the company's legal strategy, aligning it with business objectives. Provide legal guidance to senior management on complex legal matters and potential risks. Contract Negotiation: Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of a wide range of commercial agreements, including contracts with clients, vendors, and partners. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Corporate Governance: Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements and maintain strong corporate ethics. Advise the board of directors and senior management on governance-related matters. Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Develop and implement compliance programs to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and provide proactive strategies to mitigate them. Conduct risk assessments and develop policies and procedures to minimize legal exposure. Dispute Resolution: Manage legal disputes and litigation, working closely with external counsel as necessary. Develop strategies for dispute resolution, including negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. Intellectual Property Protection: Oversee the protection and management of intellectual property rights. Advise on trademark and copyright issues, patent applications, and IP licensing agreements. Employment Law: Provide guidance on employment law matters, including contract drafting, employee relations, and labor disputes. Ensure compliance with employment regulations. Compliance Training: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on legal and compliance matters. Promote a culture of compliance throughout the organization. Legal Team Management: Lead and manage the legal team, including recruiting, training, and performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment

Job Requirement: Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university. A Master's degree in Law or Business Administration is preferred. Admitted to practice law in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Significant experience in a senior legal leadership role, preferably as a General Counsel or Head of Legal. In-depth knowledge of UAE laws, regulations, and corporate governance requirements. Strong negotiation, contract drafting, and legal research skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide strategic legal advice and work effectively with senior management. Proven track record in managing legal risks and resolving complex legal issues. Experience in multiple legal areas, such as corporate law, compliance, and dispute resolution. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Fluency in English. Knowledge of Arabic is advantageous. Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
