Job Description:
The Rooftop Solar Panel Technician installs, maintains, and repairs solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on residential and commercial rooftops. The technician is responsible for assessing roof conditions, assembling solar panel mounting structures, installing wiring and inverters, and ensuring that systems are connected safely to the electrical grid. Work involves climbing, lifting, and working in outdoor, elevated environments. Technicians must adhere to electrical safety codes, perform tests to ensure functionality, and troubleshoot issues related to output, shading, or system faults. The technician often collaborates with electricians and engineers to ensure all installations are compliant with energy regulations and building codes. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, solar technology, and structural safety. The technician should be comfortable using hand and power tools, multimeters, and climbing equipment.
