Job Description:
We are looking for a dependable Building Maintenance Assistant to join our facility team in Cologne. In this role, you will help ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of building systems, structures, and general premises. Responsibilities include assisting with minor repairs, basic plumbing and electrical tasks, and routine inspections of equipment and facilities.
You will support senior maintenance staff with scheduled maintenance work and help address urgent repair needs as they arise. Additional duties may include cleaning common areas, replacing light fixtures, moving furniture, and monitoring supply inventories. The job requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to follow technical instructions.
This role is ideal for individuals interested in hands-on work and who take pride in maintaining a clean and functional environment for others. On-the-job training will be provided.
Job Requirement:
No formal education is necessary, but candidates with prior experience in maintenance, construction, or handyman work are preferred. You should be physically fit, capable of lifting and carrying items, climbing ladders, and working in confined or elevated spaces.
Applicants must be reliable, have strong problem-solving skills, and follow safety procedures precisely. A basic understanding of tools, equipment, and building systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical) is advantageous. You should be comfortable assisting in both indoor and outdoor environments.
The ability to communicate in German or English and work independently or in a team is important. Flexibility to work overtime or respond to emergency maintenance issues is also required. Punctuality and a proactive attitude are key to success in this position.
