A Ceramics Kiln Technician is needed in Florence to operate and maintain industrial kilns used in the firing of ceramic products. The technician is responsible for preparing kilns, loading ceramic items, monitoring firing cycles, and ensuring the quality and consistency of finished products.
Key duties include setting kiln temperatures and firing schedules according to material specifications, inspecting kiln components for wear or damage, and performing routine maintenance to ensure optimal kiln performance. The technician monitors the entire firing process, adjusts parameters as necessary, and troubleshoots any operational issues.
This role requires knowledge of ceramic materials, firing techniques, and kiln operation, including electric, gas, or wood-fired kilns. The Ceramics Kiln Technician works closely with production and quality control teams to meet production deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

Candidates for the Ceramics Kiln Technician role must meet the following requirements to ensure safe and efficient kiln operation and firing processes:
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience working with industrial kilns in ceramic manufacturing or a related field. Knowledge of different kiln types such as electric, gas, and wood-fired is preferred.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of ceramic firing processes, temperature control, firing schedules, and kiln maintenance. Ability to program and monitor kiln controllers and adjust firing cycles based on product specifications.
Quality Focus: Ability to inspect ceramic products during and after firing for defects such as cracks, warping, or discoloration. Skilled in troubleshooting firing issues to maintain product quality.
Safety Awareness: Comprehensive knowledge of workplace safety procedures related to high-temperature equipment, fire hazards, and chemical use. Strict adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
Mechanical Skills: Basic maintenance skills to perform routine kiln inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs. Ability to identify and report major equipment malfunctions.
Physical Stamina: Capacity to work in high-temperature environments and perform physically demanding tasks such as loading/unloading kilns.
Teamwork & Communication: Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with production, quality control, and maintenance teams effectively.
