Job Description: Chief Mate – Transport & Logistic Industry, Hobart

We are seeking a Chief Mate to lead deck operations aboard vessels operating out of Hobart. The Chief Mate is responsible for overseeing the safety and efficiency of cargo handling, navigation, and crew management under the direction of the Master.

Key duties include supervising deck officers and crew, coordinating loading and unloading of cargo, maintaining ship stability, and ensuring compliance with maritime laws and company policies. The Chief Mate also manages safety equipment inspections, emergency preparedness drills, and watchkeeping schedules.

This role demands strong leadership to motivate and manage teams while ensuring operational tasks are carried out effectively and safely. The Chief Mate collaborates with other departments to facilitate smooth voyages and efficient port operations.
