Job Description:
The Battery Testing Technician in Quebec City is responsible for evaluating the performance, capacity, and safety of various battery types including lithium-ion, lead-acid, and other energy storage systems. This role is essential in quality control, product development, and preventive maintenance for batteries used in consumer electronics, electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, and industrial backup systems.
The technician conducts charge/discharge cycles, load tests, thermal and voltage analysis, and evaluates internal resistance using specialized diagnostic tools and data acquisition systems. Results are recorded and analyzed to assess efficiency, longevity, and failure points. Responsibilities also include preparing technical reports, calibrating test equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and working in close coordination with engineers and product development teams.
Technicians may work in lab environments or production testing stations. Strict adherence to environmental and workplace safety protocols is critical due to the hazardous nature of battery components.
Job Requirement:
Education: Diploma or associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience: 1–2 years in electronics testing, battery systems, or quality assurance preferred.
Skills:

Ability to interpret test data and technical documentation.
Knowledge of battery chemistry and failure modes.
