Job Description:
The Calibration Lab Technician in Edmonton plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and performance of measurement instruments used across various industrial and electronic applications. Working in a controlled laboratory setting, the technician is responsible for testing, calibrating, adjusting, and certifying instruments and equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, pressure gauges, temperature sensors, and signal generators according to established standards.
This role involves setting up test equipment, interpreting calibration procedures, recording detailed calibration data, and maintaining calibration certificates. The technician uses national and international metrology standards to validate and trace measurement accuracy. Additional responsibilities include maintaining lab equipment, troubleshooting faults, ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 standards, and supporting internal audits.
The technician must follow strict documentation protocols and work closely with quality assurance, engineering, and production departments. This position is key to upholding product integrity and regulatory compliance in manufacturing and service environments.
Job Requirement:
Education: Diploma in Electronics, Instrumentation Technology, or related field; additional training in metrology or calibration preferred.
Experience: 2–4 years of calibration or instrumentation experience in a certified lab environment.
Skills:
Proficiency in using and calibrating electronic and mechanical test instruments.
Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and quality control practices.
Strong math and documentation skills.
Familiarity with calibration management software is a plus.
Language: Fluent in English (written and verbal).
