Job Description:

We are looking for a proactive and responsible Branch Banking Officer to join our banking team in Cologne. As a central figure in our branch operations, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality customer service while managing day-to-day banking transactions, account services, and customer inquiries. Your duties will include processing deposits and withdrawals, assisting with account openings and closures, and guiding clients through available financial services.

In this role, you will also be involved in promoting and cross-selling bank products such as savings accounts, term deposits, personal loans, and credit cards. You will ensure all branch operations are conducted in compliance with internal procedures and financial regulations. The role also includes back-office tasks such as cash balancing, document verification, and report generation.

You will work closely with the branch manager and other officers to meet branch performance targets and improve client satisfaction. This position offers exposure to various aspects of retail banking and is a strong foundation for long-term career advancement. Job Requirement:

Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in banking, finance, business administration, or a related field. A minimum of 1–3 years of experience in branch banking or customer-facing financial services is preferred. Solid knowledge of banking products, cash handling procedures, and account management is essential.

You must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively under pressure, and a commitment to providing a positive customer experience. Fluency in German is required; knowledge of English or another language is an advantage. You should also be familiar with basic banking software, digital banking platforms, and Microsoft Office tools.

Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities are necessary, along with attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. You must adhere strictly to regulatory and compliance guidelines and be capable of identifying suspicious activity or risks.

Candidates with certifications in retail banking, AML/KYC compliance, or customer service will be given preference. You should possess a professional demeanor, be a dependable team player, and demonstrate integrity and discretion in all client interactions. Willingness to participate in training and development programs to keep up with changing banking practices is also important for long-term success in this role.
