Job Description:
The Blood Collection Technician in Al Wakrah plays a key role in supporting the healthcare facility by efficiently and safely collecting blood samples from patients for diagnostic testing. This role is critical as the facility transitions from construction to operational status, ensuring that the hospital's laboratory services are fully functional and capable of providing accurate results for patient care.
Key responsibilities include preparing patients for blood collection, explaining procedures, and ensuring their comfort throughout the process. The technician is responsible for obtaining blood samples through venipuncture or capillary collection methods, handling the samples with care, labeling and documenting them correctly, and transporting them to the laboratory for analysis. The technician also maintains clean and sterile collection environments, adhering to infection control protocols to avoid contamination.
In addition to technical duties, the Blood Collection Technician provides exceptional patient care by addressing concerns and offering emotional support to patients during the procedure. The technician also ensures compliance with health and safety regulations and records all blood collection activities as required.
