Job Description:
The Automation Engineer in Abu Dhabi is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining control systems and automated processes used in industrial operations. This role involves programming PLCs, configuring SCADA systems, and integrating hardware/software to ensure efficient plant operations. The engineer evaluates production workflows, identifies opportunities for automation, and implements improvements that enhance safety, productivity, and energy efficiency.
Key tasks include developing logic diagrams, conducting system testing, troubleshooting automation failures, and documenting system changes. The role requires close collaboration with electrical engineers, maintenance teams, and production managers to support ongoing technical requirements and system upgrades.
In-depth knowledge of control theory, industrial communication protocols (MODBUS, PROFIBUS, etc.), and robotics is highly valued. Experience with automation platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Schneider Electric is essential. The position demands strong analytical thinking and the ability to work under pressure during commissioning or plant downtime.
