Job Description: A Geoscientist in the Energy & Utilities industry is responsible for studying the Earth's structure, composition, and processes to support energy exploration and production activities. They combine knowledge from various scientific disciplines, such as geology, geophysics, and geochemistry, to analyze data and provide insights into the location, quality, and sustainability of energy resources. Geoscientists work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to assess the geological and environmental factors influencing energy projects. Key Responsibilities: Geological Analysis: Conduct detailed geological studies and investigations, including field mapping, stratigraphic analysis, and structural interpretation, to understand the subsurface geology and identify potential energy reservoirs. Geophysical Data Integration: Integrate and interpret geophysical data, such as seismic, gravity, and magnetic data, to delineate subsurface structures, faults, and potential hydrocarbon reservoirs. Petrophysical Analysis: Evaluate the physical and chemical properties of rocks and minerals to assess reservoir characteristics, including porosity, permeability, and fluid saturation. Reservoir Modeling: Build geological and reservoir models using software tools to simulate and visualize subsurface structures, aiding in the identification of drilling targets and reservoir management. Geochemical Analysis: Analyze rock and fluid samples to understand the composition, quality, and potential of energy resources. Assess geochemical data to determine reservoir quality and the presence of hydrocarbons. Risk Assessment: Evaluate geological and environmental risks associated with energy projects, including geological hazards, reservoir integrity, and potential environmental impacts. Data Management: Collect, organize, and manage geological and geophysical data sets. Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of data for analysis and reporting purposes. Collaborative Work: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including geophysicists, engineers, and environmental specialists, to integrate geological and geophysical data into project planning and decision-making processes. Technical Reporting: Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate findings, recommendations, and uncertainties to stakeholders, project teams, and regulatory bodies. Research and Development: Stay updated with the latest advancements in geoscience technologies, methodologies, and software tools. Contribute to research projects aimed at improving exploration and production techniques.

Job Requirement: Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, Geochemistry, or a related field. Strong knowledge of geological and geophysical principles, methods, and data interpretation. Proficiency in geoscience software tools and modeling techniques. Familiarity with energy exploration and production processes. Experience in geological mapping, structural interpretation, and reservoir characterization. Understanding of petrophysical analysis techniques and reservoir modeling. Knowledge of geochemical analysis methods for assessing reservoir quality. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and presentation abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Fieldwork experience and proficiency in using geological and geophysical instruments. Familiarity with industry-standard software for geoscience analysis. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the energy sector. Adaptability to changing project requirements and deadlines. Attention to detail and accuracy in data interpretation. Strong computer skills for data manipulation and modeling.
