A Daily Living Activities Support Aide in Hobart is responsible for assisting individuals who require help with everyday activities due to age, illness, or disability. This role ensures that the client’s daily routines are supported in a way that promotes independence, dignity, and comfort within their home environment.
Key responsibilities include helping with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. The aide will also assist with mobility support, transferring the client in and out of bed or a wheelchair, and aiding in light physical exercises as prescribed. Meal preparation and assistance with feeding, if needed, are part of the role, as well as maintaining a clean and safe living space.
The aide will help with household tasks, including light cleaning, laundry, and running errands, ensuring the home environment remains comfortable and organized. Additionally, the aide may assist with medication reminders and help clients with communication, either through verbal or non-verbal means.
Providing companionship and emotional support is a key part of the role, helping to reduce isolation and enhance the client’s quality of life.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, patience, and a compassionate nature to effectively support the emotional and physical well-being of the client. They should be able to provide hands-on assistance while maintaining a high standard of dignity and respect for the client’s privacy.
Applicants should be physically capable of assisting with mobility and physical tasks, including lifting, transferring, or supporting clients. Flexibility in working hours, including weekends or evenings, may be required, depending on the client’s needs.
A current First Aid and CPR certification is necessary, as well as a valid police check and references from previous employers. A valid driver’s license may be beneficial, especially if the role involves running errands or accompanying the client to appointments.
