Key responsibilities include hand-washing, spot-treating, steaming, pressing, and carefully laundering delicate items such as silk, cashmere, lace, wool, and designer clothing. The specialist is also responsible for organising wardrobes, performing minor repairs (such as button replacement or light mending), and managing seasonal garment storage using protective techniques.
The role includes maintaining high-value linens, including luxury bedding, curtains, and fine tablecloths, using appropriate methods to preserve quality and appearance. The specialist will also coordinate with dry cleaning providers when external services are needed and will inspect all items before and after processing for damage or wear.
This position demands precision, a gentle touch, and an understanding of fabric chemistry and garment construction, ensuring that no material is mishandled or degraded over time.
