The Automotive Design Engineer based in Rome is responsible for designing and developing agricultural and fisheries vehicles tailored to the specific needs of Italy’s agricultural landscapes and maritime environments. This role focuses on creating innovative, durable, and efficient vehicle systems including tractors, harvesting machines, utility vehicles, and amphibious equipment.
Key responsibilities include conceptualizing vehicle designs, preparing 2D and 3D CAD models, and developing detailed technical drawings for manufacturing. The engineer collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that designs meet performance, cost, safety, and environmental standards. Emphasis is placed on optimizing structural integrity, ergonomics, fuel efficiency, and integration of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
The Automotive Design Engineer is involved throughout the product development lifecycle—from initial concept and prototyping to testing and refinement. They work closely with production, testing, and quality control teams to address technical challenges and incorporate field feedback from end users in the agriculture and fisheries sectors.
Ideal candidates hold a degree in mechanical or automotive engineering and have strong skills in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA). Knowledge of agricultural vehicle systems and sustainable design principles is highly desirable.
