We are looking for a motivated and skilled Biotech Research Scientist to join our interdisciplinary research and development team in Rome under the Engineering & Architecture industry. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field. A strong academic background combined with at least 3–5 years of hands-on research experience in biotechnology applications relevant to materials science, construction technologies, or environmental systems is essential.
Applicants should demonstrate proficiency in laboratory techniques such as PCR, spectrometry, chromatography, microscopy, and microbial cultivation. Experience in developing bio-based materials, biofilms, or biosensors integrated into engineering processes is highly desirable.
A solid understanding of biological systems and their interaction with non-biological environments is required, along with knowledge of EU and Italian regulations concerning biosafety and environmental compliance. Candidates must be capable of drafting technical reports, publishing research findings, and contributing to patent filings or project proposals.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams are critical. Familiarity with data analysis tools and research management software is an advantage.
Fluency in Italian is required; working knowledge of English is preferred for engaging in international research activities and technical communication. Availability for laboratory work, occasional field testing, and collaboration with external research institutions is also expected.
