The Broadcast Systems Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of broadcast and multimedia systems used in television, radio, and digital streaming platforms. Working within broadcasting stations, media houses, or production facilities, the technician ensures seamless transmission of audio and video content by configuring and supporting essential equipment such as transmitters, satellite systems, servers, automation software, and editing tools.
Key duties include monitoring live broadcasts, identifying signal interruptions, calibrating equipment, and ensuring compliance with technical standards. The technician collaborates closely with engineering teams, producers, and IT staff to support high-quality, uninterrupted content delivery. Responsibilities also involve inspecting cabling infrastructure, managing backup systems, updating firmware, and keeping up with evolving digital broadcast technologies.
Candidates must demonstrate expertise in RF technology, IP-based broadcasting systems, video compression standards, and AV networking. The role demands a high level of precision, quick problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure, especially during live or time-sensitive broadcasts.
A diploma or bachelor's degree in electronics, broadcasting, or a related field is typically required, along with relevant hands-on experience in a media technology environment. Flexibility for shift work, including weekends and holidays, is essential in this dynamic and fast-paced field.

Applicants should have at least 2–3 years of hands-on experience in maintaining and supporting broadcast equipment, including cameras, audio mixers, satellite links, video servers, and automation systems. Proficiency in RF transmission, video compression formats (MPEG, H.264), and digital audio/video routing is essential. Knowledge of IP-based broadcast systems and IT network infrastructure is a key requirement.
Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to respond quickly to technical issues, especially during live broadcasts. Familiarity with signal flow diagrams, wiring schematics, and preventive maintenance practices is expected. The role requires physical dexterity for handling technical equipment and readiness for shift-based work schedules, including weekends and holidays.
