Job Description:

An Anatomical Artist in Bern specializes in crafting scientifically accurate and artistically rendered visuals of the human body for use in medical, academic, and museum contexts. Their work supports healthcare education, biological research, and public science exhibits. In Bern—a city with a deep academic tradition and strong medical institutions—the artist collaborates with researchers, educators, and institutions to visualize anatomy, physiology, and pathology. The role includes producing drawings, diagrams, sculptures, or digital models that reveal internal body structures, surgical anatomy, or microscopic systems. The artist must strike a balance between artistic expression and scientific precision. Deliverables may include illustrations for textbooks, animated medical visuals, or anatomical displays for museums and universities. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about human biology, education, and combining fine art with scientific rigor.

Job Requirement:

  • Degree in Biomedical Art, Anatomy, or Fine Arts with medical focus

  • Proficiency in human anatomy, both structural and functional

  • Experience producing educational anatomical visuals or models

  • Strong traditional and digital illustration techniques

  • Knowledge of scientific and medical terminology

  • Experience collaborating with doctors, professors, or museums

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or 3D modeling software

  • Attention to anatomical accuracy and proportional precision

  • Fluency in German essential; English beneficial in Bern

  • Portfolio featuring anatomical studies and visualizations

  • Understanding of educational content needs and visual clarity

  • Ability to translate complex biological systems into art

  • Familiarity with Bern’s academic and medical institutions

  • Comfort working from dissection references or scans

  • Ability to develop physical models or interactive visuals

  • Knowledge of historical anatomical art styles and methods

  • Capacity to meet publishing or institutional deadlines

  • Creative approach to engaging educational presentation

  • Professionalism in clinical or educational settings

    • Dedication to continuous anatomical and artistic learning
