The role includes sketching original concepts, rendering digital designs, selecting materials, and collaborating with gemologists, metalsmiths, and luxury retailers. The designer must balance aesthetic vision with technical feasibility, ensuring each piece meets exacting standards of quality and exclusivity. Knowledge of trends, historical motifs, and client preferences is essential to creating collections that appeal to a discerning clientele. This position is suited for creatives passionate about timeless design, storytelling through jewellery, and preserving the tradition of luxury craftsmanship.

Job Requirement:

  • Degree in Jewellery Design, Fine Arts, or Product Design

  • Strong portfolio of luxury and custom jewellery creations

  • Knowledge of gemstone properties, setting styles, and metal types

  • Proficiency in sketching, CAD software (Rhino, Matrix, etc.)

  • Experience working with goldsmiths, gem setters, and engravers

  • Attention to detail and understanding of luxury brand aesthetics

  • Familiarity with Basel’s luxury market and client expectations

  • Understanding of production processes from design to finish

  • Trend awareness and ability to blend tradition with innovation

  • Excellent communication with clients and collaborators

  • Knowledge of ethical sourcing and sustainability in materials

  • Time management and ability to work to deadlines

  • Strong visual storytelling through design

  • Understanding of branding and product storytelling

  • Ability to design for both collections and private commissions

  • Experience with 3D printing and prototyping is a plus

  • Multilingual skills; German preferred, English valuable in Basel

  • Creativity, precision, and consistency under high standards

  • Commitment to preserving artisanal quality

    • Passion for luxury, heritage, and fine design
