Job Description:
A Production Artist working in Basel within the Creative Art & Design industry is responsible for preparing and finalizing design files for print and digital production. This position acts as the critical bridge between design and execution, ensuring artwork meets technical specifications and brand guidelines before distribution or publication. The Production Artist collaborates with graphic designers, creative directors, and marketing teams to refine layouts, correct file inconsistencies, adjust typography, and verify color accuracy. In Basel’s vibrant commercial and cultural sectors, this role supports a variety of creative projects—ranging from product packaging and advertising campaigns to exhibition materials and digital assets. The artist is expected to manage high volumes of work efficiently while maintaining excellent attention to detail and quality control. Familiarity with prepress processes, proofing, and asset versioning is essential. This position also requires consistent organization, version tracking, and file archiving. A strong understanding of Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, is fundamental. Production Artists in Basel often contribute to multilingual projects and international campaigns, and must be precise, deadline-oriented, and adaptable. Job Requirement:
Proven experience as a Production Artist or similar prepress role
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
Strong understanding of print production standards and digital file formats
Knowledge of color theory, typography, layout, and resolution requirements
Ability to prepare clean, technically sound files for commercial printing
Familiarity with proofing, dielines, and bleeds for various output formats
Experience working with brand guidelines and design templates
Attention to detail for spotting inconsistencies and layout issues
Ability to follow creative direction while adhering to technical constraints
Strong organizational and version-control skills
Capable of handling high-volume workflows under tight deadlines
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Understanding of multilingual formatting and localization standards
Basic knowledge of packaging design or signage preparation is a plus
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Familiarity with Basel’s design and commercial print industry is beneficial
Degree or certification in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related discipline
Flexibility to adapt designs to various media platforms
Fluency in English; German or French proficiency preferred
