Job Description:
The SMT (Surface-Mount Technology) Line Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the surface-mount assembly line used in the production of printed circuit boards (PCBs). This role involves setting up and running SMT equipment such as solder paste printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) systems. The operator prepares job runs according to work orders, loads components, adjusts machine settings, and ensures smooth flow of PCB assemblies through each process stage. Quality control is a key responsibility—verifying proper component placement, soldering, and inspection of completed boards for defects. The technician also troubleshoots minor machine errors, conducts routine cleaning and maintenance, and works with engineering teams to implement process improvements. The SMT Line Operator plays a vital role in Abu Dhabi’s electronics manufacturing sector by ensuring accurate, high-speed production of reliable circuit boards for a variety of applications including telecommunications, automotive, medical devices, and consumer electronics.
