Job Description: We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Civil or Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Surrey, Canada. As an Engineer in the shipbuilding and ship machinery industry, you will play a crucial role in designing, analyzing, and optimizing ship structures, systems, and components. Your expertise in civil or mechanical engineering, knowledge of industry standards, and proficiency in relevant software will contribute to the success of our shipbuilding projects. Responsibilities: Design and analyze ship structures, systems, and components using engineering principles and software tools. Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports for shipbuilding projects. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative and efficient engineering solutions. Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for shipbuilding projects. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements. Perform structural and mechanical calculations and simulations. Assist in the selection and evaluation of materials, equipment, and suppliers. Support project management by providing technical guidance and expertise. Participate in design reviews, inspections, and testing activities. Keep abreast of advancements in shipbuilding technologies and industry trends.
Job Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Experience in shipbuilding, marine engineering, or a relevant industry is preferred. Proficiency in engineering design software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools. Strong knowledge of civil or mechanical engineering principles and practices. Familiarity with ship structures, systems, and machinery. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Attention to detail and ability to work with precision. Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations in the shipbuilding industry. Professional engineering licensure or eligibility for licensure is an asset.
