Job Description:

The Scaffold Erector in Vancouver is responsible for assembling, modifying, and dismantling scaffolding structures that provide safe working platforms for construction workers at elevated heights. Working across residential, commercial, and industrial sites, the Scaffold Erector ensures all scaffolding systems are stable, secure, and compliant with British Columbia’s safety regulations and construction standards.

Key duties include reading site plans and elevation drawings, selecting appropriate scaffolding materials, erecting frameworks using pipes, boards, braces, and fasteners, and inspecting structures regularly to maintain stability. Scaffold Erectors must be skilled in calculating load capacities and adapting configurations for various project needs, including towers, cantilevered platforms, or hanging scaffolds.

Job Requirement:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification or scaffolding training program preferred.

Experience: 2–4 years of experience in scaffold erection or construction site safety work.

Skills:

Proficient in assembling tube and clamp, system, and frame scaffolding.

Strong understanding of load calculations, fall protection, and site safety.

Ability to read blueprints and elevation layouts.

Physically fit with excellent balance, coordination, and strength.

Language: Fluency in English; other languages are an asset.

Other Requirements:

Fall Protection, WHMIS, and Working at Heights certifications are mandatory.

Familiarity with WorkSafeBC regulations and scaffold inspection procedures.

Willingness to work outdoors in variable weather conditions.

Safety-conscious and capable of working at extreme heights.
