Job Description:

We are looking for a talented Computational Linguist to join our AI research and development team in Berlin. In this role, you will be at the intersection of linguistics and computer science, designing language models and contributing to natural language understanding and generation systems. Your work will support the development of intelligent systems such as voice assistants, machine translation, grammar checkers, and sentiment analysis tools.

As a Computational Linguist, you will be responsible for creating and annotating linguistic datasets, developing rules and algorithms for language processing, and collaborating with engineers and data scientists to improve the performance of NLP systems. You will also participate in testing, debugging, and fine-tuning existing models and systems.

This role provides the opportunity to work on advanced language technologies while helping machines interact with humans more naturally and effectively.

Job Requirement:

Candidates should have a Master’s or PhD in Computational Linguistics, Linguistics, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field, with 2–5 years of experience in the field.

Proficiency in linguistic analysis and a strong understanding of syntax, morphology, semantics, and pragmatics is required. Experience with Python and relevant NLP libraries (spaCy, NLTK, Transformers) is essential. Familiarity with tools for linguistic annotation, corpus analysis, and rule-based NLP development is expected.

Knowledge of machine learning techniques and statistical modeling, particularly in the context of NLP, is a strong plus. Experience working in multilingual environments and with language resources such as treebanks or lexicons is desirable.

Strong analytical thinking, attention to linguistic detail, and the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams are key traits for this role.
