The Agricultural Tractor Operator is a key contributor to farm productivity, responsible for operating and maintaining tractors and specialized equipment to perform a variety of agricultural tasks. Based in Florence and working within the Agriculture & Fisheries industry, this role supports crop cultivation, field preparation, fertilization, irrigation, and harvesting activities across various farm sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate tractors and attachments such as plows, harrows, planters, sprayers, and trailers to carry out daily agricultural operations.
Support soil preparation, seeding, fertilization, and pest control in accordance with seasonal farming schedules.
Transport materials such as seeds, tools, feed, and harvested crops between fields and storage areas.
Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on tractors and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Monitor field conditions and machinery performance, reporting any mechanical issues or safety hazards to supervisors.
Follow all farm safety procedures and environmental guidelines while working in open field conditions.
Assist with manual farm tasks as needed during peak workload periods, including harvesting and packaging.
Maintain accurate logs of work performed and machinery usage for farm records.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, mechanical competence, and a strong understanding of farm operations in an open-air environment.
