Job Description:
A Dietetic Technician working in the Agriculture & Fisheries sector in Florence supports the implementation of nutritional programs aimed at improving the health and well-being of agricultural and fisheries workers. This role involves assisting registered dietitians in assessing dietary needs, preparing nutrition plans, and promoting healthy eating habits in physically demanding work environments.

The technician plays a hands-on role in collecting dietary data, monitoring food intake, and supporting nutrition education initiatives for workers in farms, fisheries, and rural communities. Responsibilities include helping to prepare educational materials, coordinating group sessions on hydration, balanced meals, and food safety, and tracking progress of nutrition programs.

In collaboration with health staff and workplace supervisors, the Dietetic Technician ensures that food provisions meet the energy and health needs of laborers, especially during peak work seasons. The role may involve visits to agricultural sites or worker housing facilities to offer direct support and guidance.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or associate degree in dietetics, nutrition, or a related field

  • Experience in community or occupational nutrition preferred

  • Basic knowledge of dietary guidelines and food safety practices

  • Good organizational and communication skills

  • Proficiency in Italian; other languages are an asset
