Job Description:
The Deck Navigation Officer is responsible for the safe navigation and operation of vessels transporting goods or passengers. This includes managing navigation systems, conducting bridge watch duties, and ensuring vessel compliance with international maritime laws. The officer prepares voyage plans, updates nautical charts, and supervises deck crew operations related to cargo handling, mooring, and anchoring. Responsibilities also include maintaining navigation equipment, monitoring weather conditions, and ensuring safety drills and emergency procedures are practiced. The role is crucial in ensuring efficient and secure marine transport services within Qatar’s logistics network.
Job Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in Nautical Science or equivalent maritime qualification
Valid Certificate of Competency (STCW-compliant)
Minimum 3 years of sea-going experience in a similar role
In-depth knowledge of navigation systems, maritime regulations, and vessel operations
Proficiency in maritime communication and emergency procedures
Physical fitness and ability to work in offshore or onboard environments
Attention to detail and high situational awareness
Willingness to work on rotational or extended shifts as required
