Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Control Panel Maintenance Technician to join our industrial maintenance team in Madrid. This role involves hands-on work with electrical control panels used in manufacturing, automation, HVAC, and building systems. The technician will be responsible for maintaining, inspecting, testing, and repairing control panels to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
You will work closely with engineers, electricians, and maintenance staff to identify panel-related faults, replace damaged components, calibrate sensors, and troubleshoot wiring issues. Key tasks include preventive maintenance, cleaning control components, checking fuses, relays, contactors, and ensuring that the wiring complies with safety and electrical codes. You may also upgrade outdated panels with newer components based on technical requirements.
The technician must document all work completed, maintain records of service history, and ensure tools and replacement parts are kept organized. This position often involves working in tight enclosures, elevated platforms, or warm environments depending on panel location. Adherence to lockout/tagout procedures and electrical safety regulations is essential. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in electrical systems and a commitment to quality and compliance. This is a full-time, on-site position with opportunity for growth into supervisory or technical training roles.
Job Requirement:
Applicants must have a diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Industrial Maintenance. A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience working with electrical control panels in commercial or industrial settings is required. Candidates should have strong knowledge of electrical diagrams, schematics, and control wiring configurations.
Experience with testing tools such as multimeters, voltage testers, and clamp meters is essential. Familiarity with motor control circuits, PLC panels, relay logic, and power distribution systems will be considered a strong asset. Technicians should be comfortable using both hand tools and power tools in routine maintenance and repairs.
Candidates must understand safety protocols related to electrical work, including lockout/tagout procedures and PPE usage. Ability to work independently, manage service schedules, and respond quickly to breakdowns is necessary. Attention to detail and the ability to identify potential issues before failure occurs are key traits for this role.
Basic computer skills are also needed for logging maintenance records and reporting faults. Good communication skills and a willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or shifts, are important for success. Spanish language skills are beneficial for interacting with facility staff and following safety signage.
