Job Description:
We are hiring a Garbage Collection Worker to manage waste collection in urban and commercial areas across Barcelona. You will collect, transport, and dispose of general, recyclable, and organic waste from residential and commercial bins. Tasks include lifting, sorting, compacting, and ensuring timely pickups along scheduled routes.
You will inspect bins for contamination, report hazards, and maintain cleanliness around collection points. Cooperation with vehicle operators and team members ensures efficient route coverage. The role demands physical endurance and attention to urban hygiene standards.
Job Requirement:
We are seeking candidates with basic education and prior experience in waste management or sanitation services. You must know safe lifting techniques, bin handling, and waste sorting procedures.
Physical stamina is critical for walking, lifting heavy bins, and frequent bending. You must follow safety protocols, use PPE, and be aware of traffic hazards. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions is needed.
Teamwork, punctuality, and a responsible work ethic are essential. You must communicate with supervisors and follow route schedules. Flexibility for early mornings, weekends, and holidays is expected.
A clean background check, valid ID, and basic safety training are required. Waste management certification is a plus.
