Job Description:
The Deck Machinery Integration Engineer in Ajman oversees the seamless integration of mechanical and electro-hydraulic systems such as winches, capstans, windlasses, mooring equipment, and cranes into the ship’s deck structure and power systems. The role involves multi-disciplinary coordination to ensure proper functionality, accessibility, safety, and compliance with naval architecture and classification rules.
Key duties include reviewing machinery specifications, preparing deck layout plans showing machinery placement and service clearances, and ensuring compatibility with power supply systems, structural reinforcements, and drainage provisions. The engineer manages interface points with hull structures, control panels, and hydraulic circuits while considering crew accessibility and maintenance access.
The role requires collaboration with design, procurement, electrical, and structural teams to ensure alignment between deck machinery requirements and vessel design limitations. The engineer also supports installation inspections, sea trials, and certification approvals related to deck machinery systems.
Job Requirement:
A degree in mechanical, marine, or systems engineering is required. 5+ years of experience in marine machinery integration, preferably on deck equipment, is essential. Knowledge of IMO and classification society standards (DNV, ABS, BV) for marine machinery is mandatory. Proficiency in CAD tools, understanding of hydraulic and electrical drive systems, and experience with installation and operational testing are required. Strong interdisciplinary communication and systems thinking skills are important for success in this role.
