Job Description:

The Electrical Raceway CAD Designer in Dubai is responsible for designing and detailing the routing of electrical cables, conduits, and trays throughout marine vessels. This includes the modeling of raceway networks for power, control, communication, and navigation systems while ensuring compliance with marine electrical standards and coordination with structural and outfitting teams.

Key tasks include interpreting single-line diagrams, integrating cable routing with structural and outfitting spaces, avoiding clash zones, and ensuring access for installation and maintenance. The designer prepares 3D layouts, fabrication drawings, and cable routing schedules using shipbuilding-focused CAD platforms.

The role requires close collaboration with electrical engineers, HVAC designers, and production staff to create cost-effective and buildable layouts. It also involves incorporating revisions based on site feedback, optimizing cable paths for length and weight efficiency, and supporting EMC/EMI separation requirements.

Job Requirement:

A diploma or degree in electrical design, marine systems, or CAD drafting is required. 3–6 years of experience in raceway modeling in shipbuilding or industrial projects is necessary. Proficiency in tools like AVEVA E3D, AutoCAD Electrical, or SmartPlant Electrical is essential. Understanding of marine cabling standards (IEC, IEEE, SOLAS) and raceway installation constraints is required. The ability to resolve spatial conflicts, coordinate across disciplines, and deliver clear fabrication packages is key to success.
